Cooking Science : Blend learning between Mechatronics Engineering and Chemistry for engineering students

Panavy Pookaiyaudom, Chonrat Tatiyaworanunand and Damrong Sommit Faculty of Engineering, Mahanakorn University of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand

Abstract – Education must focus on both knowledge and soft skills. We need to create a learning process for students to remember quickly and develop soft skills of students. In this live demo, we will show the teaching style by combining two subjects in the this class. Two subjects are mechatronics engineering and chemistry. The programming is going to control the robotic arm. This part, students have to study programming of mechatronics engineering. After that, students will be learned the content of chemistry by using a cooking as an experiment. Robotic arm will pick up ingredients of food as programming. After finishing the cooking, the content of the chemistry will be summarized. We think that teaching and learning requires a variety of styles for new students.
